West Islip's Annual Festival of Lights celebration was held on Sunday December 2nd, 2007.

This inspirational event, that was sponsored by the West Islip American Legion was West Islip's official kick-off to the holiday season. Many community organizations participated in the festivities including Islip Town Supervisor, Phil Nolan, the WI Kickline Lionettes, the HS Brass Ensemble, WI Fire Department, Legislator Thomas Barraga, Youth Enrichment Services (YES), WI Girl Scouts, Suffolk County Treasurer Angie Carpenter, and the West Islip Chamber of Commerce.
