West Islip's Annual Festival of Lights celebration was held on Sunday December 6th, 2009.

This inspirational event, that was sponsored by the West Islip American Legion and the WI Chamber of Commerce, was West Islip's official kick-off to the holiday season.

Many community organizations participated in the festivities including Islip Town Supervisor, Phil Nolan, the WI Kickline Lionettes, the HS Brass Ensemble, WI Fire Department, Legislator Thomas Barraga, Pastor Jesse Pepterrgill, Youth Enrichment Services (YES), WI Girl Scouts, WI Boy Scouts, Suffolk County Treasurer Angie Carpenter, and the West Islip Chamber of Commerce. As always, the West Islip Fire Department was on hand to participate and deliver Santa Claus!
