Islip Chamber of Commerce held its annual
Installation Breakfast at Villa Monaco
Restaurant on January 30th, 2009. Keynote
Speaker, Representative Peter King, spoke to a
full house of merchants, volunteers,
educators, residents and representatives from
local businesses.
Out-going
president, Lisa Guariglia was honored and
thanked for her years of dedicated service. This
year's Diamond Award went to Maria Pecorale,
owner of Hawley Corner Gift Shop and chairperson
of the West Islip Bicentennial Committee, for
her generosity and years of community service.
The 2009
Executive Board was sworn in at the breakfast as
follows: Joseph DiPalma, President; Raymond
Rendina, Executive Vice-President; Denise Rubino,
Vice-President Membership; Diane Rossi-Fontana,
Vice-President Merchants; Nancy Donohue,
Vice-President of Programs; Michael Studley,
